Manupa Butler (c.1936-2018)

Manupa was born at Kunamarra near Patjarr Community in the Gibson Desert, WA. She went to Warburton in the 1960’s and spent several years before returning to her home country. Manupa painted to tell stories to her children and grandchildren, dividing her time between Patjarr and Warakurna. After moving to Wanarn Aged Care, she painted for Warakurna Artists as part of their weekly art therapy program.
